THE HIDDEN GEOMETRY OF LIFE
the science and spirituality of nature

'Breathtaking in its scope and fascinating in its detail, The Hidden Geometry of Life is nothing less than a comprehensive and coherent account, in words and images, of the nature and meaning of reality – a vision in which science and spirit unite.'
The harmony in our world and the cosmos is awe-inspiring, and is brilliantly portrayed here in images and words which reveal the connection between art, geometry, science, consciousness and spirituality.... An illuminating book indeed!
NEXUS magazine (June - July 2012)
Karen L French provides the key into the doorways of understanding so as to empower artists in their calling and begin their journey into truly ‘seeing.
Amanda McGreggor, ArtLyst – London Art Magazine (26 Feb 2012)
Love it! It is probably the simplest introduction to complex subjects that I have read. Crystal clear like a drink of spring water and this clarity makes it resonate even more.
Professor John Hyatt (Manchester School of Art)
'Karen L French has given us a tour de force of accessible science that will appeal to budding scientists as well as to anyone with an enquiring mind. A sumptuously illustrated and hugely inspirational book.'
Physicist John Stuart Reid (Feb 2012)
This lavishly illustrated in and erudite book takes the reader on a journey through the formative forces of the physical world....The narrative draws on many cultures, and contains many inspiring and instructive quotations from scientists, artists and philosophers. Key details are explained in special boxes, enabling the reader to deepen their understanding of specific points. The last chapter ends with a metaphysical poem, I AM, HERE, NOW, celebrating the joy of learning through life experience. A richly textured and revealing book.

LOOK INSIDE

Throughout history we humans have searched for meaning to our existence. In The Hidden Geometry of Life Karen French reveals how geometry, in the broadest sense of the term, can provide the key to finding order, structure and significance within the astonishing multiplicity of the cosmos.

I    Shaping Reality focuses on the meaning of simple shapes. We learn how the Circle represents relationships, unity, duality and time; how the Square grounds us in the physical world; how the Cross symbolizes the choices we make; and how the Triangle structures levels of reality. Together these forms make a Matrix – a model by which we can understand our place in time and space.

II    Structure of Being explores how all entities, including ourselves, come into existence. We learn about planes of reality and the nature of consciousness, experience and understanding; and how, symbolically, the Classical Elements work together in the creative dance of Being.

III    Medium of Sound describes the fundamental importance of sound in facilitating the creation of reality. We learn about wave forms, sound as a vehicle for geometry, the sacred AUM (denoting the "original source") and the sublime ratios of music.

IV    Let There Be Light shows how light is an essential dynamic in our perception of reality. We learn about the nature of visible light and dark matter, the mysteries of space-time revealed by Einstein and his successors, and the fascinating connections between colour and music.

V    Gateway to Becoming explores the holographic Universe, the power of directed thought and the profound truths inherent in mandalas and yantras. Revisiting the Classical Elements, this time in more depth, Karen concludes with a brilliant new model of the cosmos, affirming the value and purpose of the individual within the eternal cycle of Being.
Karen L. French has produced a book that is concise and acts as a wonderful research tool for all art students and professional artists. The visuals are exciting and thought provoking and give the topics discussed a tangible dimension. The text is easy to read and yet manages to cover the intellectual context of the theories. The theories put forward are varied and the reader is taken on a journey of learning where one topic feeds into the other. This approach allows the reader the time to compute the information and to research in a creative manner. I would recommend this book to any artist, tutor or student working in any artistic discipline. It is well researched and a great point of reference for the study of geometry, science, spirituality and their place in our natural environment.

Do you realise you actually shape your destiny and shapes influence your destiny. If you want to understand how this works ask Karen to give a talk about it or read her excellent book. You may have hated even the mention of geometry at school, but Karen's simple and illustrated explanations will give you a real insight into this fascinating topic.
